China Satellite 2005 committee of experts meeting

  China Institute of Communications (CIC), the main organizer of the China Satellite Conference held its committee of experts’meeting on March 4th at Quangzhou Hotel in Beijing for brain-stroming session . Professor Yang Qianli, chairman of the China Satellite Conference, initiated and took charge of the meeting and Mr. Hu WeiYi, Deputy Secretary General of CIC delivered his welcoming speech. During the meeting, Professor Yang shared with the experts the progress as well as preparations needed for the coming event. He hoped that together, the experts would exchange their views and opinions on satellite-related issues, policies, trends and technologies, services, etc. The experts enthusiastically discussed the questions on Direct Broadcasting Satellite, Indian Ocean tsunami and disaster emergency communications, satellite navigation, satellite location, and satellite remote sensing application, and so on.

    At the end of the meeting, Professor Yang expressed his appreciations to the experts participated. He said that the support of the experts provides important foundation for the China Satellite Conference. He also urged and hoped that the experts will continue to be actively involved in the satellite event. With their support and assistance, the conference will be an important avenue for satellite professionals and users around the globe to participate in order to have a better understanding of the satellite industry in China.
